Blitz The Ambassador

Samuel Bazawule better known as Blitz the Ambassador was born and raised in Accra, Ghana in 1982. He is one of four children and he moved to the United States in 2001 to study at Kent University to study Business Administration in Ohio. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.            He started to grow into music when he started listening to Public Enemy which was one of the groups at the time touring in Ghana. He started to grow fond of hip hop and started to write his own lyrics. While he was at Kent University he even took the time to release a few mixtapes. He then moved to New York which is the mecca of hip hop to start pursuing his dream of becoming a successful hip hop artist.            He released his mixtapes and albums without the help of a major record label. He eventually started his own record label which is Embassy MVMT. He took hip hop to another level with his distinct style of music. He mixed hip hop with the sound of Africa which created a new sound. He is also involved in the political and social issues that are going on which is also very evident in his music. Up to now, Blitz has released 4 albums none of which have received the recognition they may deserve but it is like Blitz says, he only wants to be heard he doesn’t want his music to turn into a tool for money.
